Music and Parades at the Imperial Court
Over the centuries parades played an important role at the court of the Habsburg family.We follow the footsteps of the lifeguard from the times of emperor Maximilian I in the 15th century to the Swiss Guard of Maria Theresia and the special guards of emperor Francis Joseph and empress Elisabeth in the 19th century. A traditional changing of the guard with music performed by the original Viennese house regiment number 4, the so-called "Hoch- und Deutschmeister" , is the higlight of this walking tour through the imperial main residence, the Hofburg.
