The New Beethoven Path in Vienna

In the course of his life Ludwig van Beethoven changed his domicile in and around Vienna more than 30 times. We visit on this city walk the only domicile Beethovens on the left bank of the Danube in Jedlesee, a part of today´s 21st district. For nearly 20 years Beethoven comes to Jedlesee irregularly and composes many pieces of music there. He loves to walk through the meadows and the English gardens of the Jedlesee Castle and to the village church. He enjoys the company of the countess of Erdödy and her family as well as playing music with friends and acquaintances in that country house and summer residence of the countness. A visit of the Beethoven memorial, Beethovens correspondence and a walk in Beethoven´s footsteps reveal Beethoven´s life, his compositions and give insight into his private life.
